Fred Senn, Waseca 2008 Alumni Achievement Award Recipient
Fred Senn is a 1960 Graduate of Sacred Heart High School. I knew Fred as the young man who annually won awards for his art in contests hosted by my father at his Lucky Dollar supermarket.
Fred received a BA in Art from St. Johns University, Collegeville, Minnesota
Fred served three years in the military and met his wife Heidi while stationed in Germany.
Fred with his artistic bent and imagination gravitated to the advertising business where he managed advertising for First Bank Systems.
Fred and Pat Fallon founded an advertising firm in Minneapolis. With humble beginning above Peter's Grill in downtown Minneapolis, Fallon Worldwide is one of the largest and most prestigious advertising firms in the world. Yes, in the world. We don't have time to list the awards received by the firm or to list their well-known clients.
But let me list a few. Fallon is the hottest ad firm in London having been named Agency of the Year the past two years. It is a force in Tokyo as well.
Fallon has helped with building brands for Nestle, Sony, Travelers, the BBC, Dyson, Volkswagen, Porsche, Wall Street Journal and Time and many more.
Fred is head of Fallon University and Chief Talent Officer of this global company.
Fred is an active member of the civic community in Minnesota. He joined the St. Johns University Board in 2005 and is active with the Carlson School of Management. He devotes time to children's causes and has engineered two gubernatorial campaigns.
Recently, Fred authored "Juicing the Orange" a book that sits on my bookshelf. Fred is in demand as a lecturer at Harvard Business School, and other top b-schools.
Pat Fallon says this about Fred: "Fred is the most grounded person I have met. He is humble, smart, very, very funny and generous in every way. It is no accident that Fred enjoys an exalted status because of the way he lives and because of the lessons he learned as a child in Waseca that have never left him."
Fred and Heidi live in Edina.
Waseca is proud to award Fred Senn, youth artist and globetrotter, the Alumni Achievement Award.
