Todd Mann

Todd Mann has played, coached and worked in Waseca most of his life. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1983. He was a four-year, three-sport athlete. Todd earned seven letters as a Bluejay, two in football as an end and a linebacker, two in basketball as a guard and three in baseball as a third baseman. His senior year he was named to the All-Area Boy's Basketball Team and to the All-South Central Conference Baseball Team.

After high school, Todd went to Des Moines Community College where he had two successful years playing baseball. He compiled a .403 batting average with six home runs, 20 doubles, and a total of 53 hits and was named to the all-sub region team. He then transferred to the University of Southern Mississippi where he continued to play baseball and received a degree in sports administration.

After college, Todd returned to Waseca and served as Waseca Community Recreation Director for 10 years. He then took over for Tink Larson as Waseca High School Athletic Director and as the new head baseball coach, a position that Tink Larson held for 33 years.

Todd has 15 years of coaching experience for the Waseca Bluejays. He was assistant coach for varsity football one year, four years as junior high basketball coach and one year as B squad coach in basketball. In baseball, he was junior high coach four years, seven years as assistant varsity coach, four years as Bluejay head baseball coach and five years as Athletic Director.

Todd's love for the game of baseball continues. He has been a fixture for the Waseca Braves for 22 years. Mann has made the All-City Team eight consecutive years.

Todd Mann gave 110% of his time and energy to his position as Activities Director at Waseca High School. His commitment was evident in his visibility at events, the outstanding upkeep of buildings and grounds for activity programs, and the promotion of programs at the conference, section, and state levels. Todd has promoted our athletic programs through the development and growth of the weight room. He even provided equipment he purchased himself in order to give our athletes the edge needed to advance to the next level of competitiveness. In addition, he was able to obtain the support of a volunteer group of coaches, teachers, and community members to supervise the use of it. He has developed a network of people in the community who have volunteered to work at major events, build a press box, tennis and football equipment buildings, and improvements at our community baseball field.

Todd always has been and always will be a Waseca Bluejay. He was instrumental in starting the Waseca High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Todd is now a salesman for Greg Larson Sports, lives in Waseca and has a son, Ty.
