Southern School of Agriculture/University of Minnesota, Waseca

The University of MN, Waseca (UMW) and Southern School of Agriculture (SSA) invite all students, faculty, staff and friends to Farmamerica on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2009. The Alumni Association will host a reunion in addition their AgALA (Ag Alumni Leadership Awards) reception at 1 p.m. Scholarship recipients will be recognized. Four children of alum to receive $500 scholarships are: Lucas Sjostrom, Lafayette; Brandon Mattison, Lamberton; Derek Meschke, Lake Crystal; and Kevin Schweer, Minnesota Lake.

Each year the MN Ag Award is presented to a SSA/UMW alumnus or non-alumnus who has served the agricultural industry to its fullest. This year, the MN Ag Award will be presented to Jeff Huelsnitz of Waseca. Jeff will be recognized for his dedication and service to the agricultural community. The Personal Service Award is an award presented to an individual who has served the college and/or the Alumni Association in an exemplary manner. Rod Jorgenson of Kasson will receive the Personal Service Award.

Everyone is welcome to join the UMW/SSA Alumni Association in recognizing award recipients and scholarship winners. Light refreshments will be provided with a brief program at 1 p.m. This is a great opportunity to visit with former faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of UMW and SSA.
