Farmamerica to host open house and reunions Sunday
The University of Minnesota - Waseca and Southern School of Agriculture Alumni, Gallagher School, and Brighton Methodist Church will be hosting reunions at the August 16 Open House at Farmamerica, Waseca.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dad's Belgian Waffles will be served. Cost is $5 in advance and $6 at the door.
A church service will be held at 11 a.m. at the historic Brighton Methodist Church on the Farmamerica grounds. A Brighton Methodist Church reunion will also be held.
The University of Minnesota Waseca / Southern School of Agriculture will hold an alumni reunion on the grounds at 1 p.m. The school will also award scholarships and awards at that time. All graduates, attendees, family members and friends are invited to the reunion.
At 2 p.m. the Gallagher Schoolhouse on the grounds will play host to country school attendees. The Gallagher School, serving grades one through eight, was moved to Farmamerica from its original site in Waseca County's St. Mary's Township where it served the local community until it was closed in 1956.
All sites are open and free to the public.
Farmamerica is a non-profit educational organization whose vision is to teach people of all ages about our agricultural, food and environmental systems and their impact on our lives.
