Keith M. Graham (70), WHS 1959
Keith M. Graham, age 70 of rural Waterville died on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center in Mankato after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born on March 26, 1941 in Canby, Minnesota he was the son of Howard and Clara (Skaar) Graham. When he was young, Keith was active with the Boy Scouts. At the age of 15 he began working and operating ham radios. He graduated from Waseca High School in 1959 and later from the University of Minnesota in 1971. He married Judy Butler on December 28, 1974 in Elysian. Keith worked for over 40 years as a registered land surveyor in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and South Dakota until retiring in 2006. His profession allowed him to enjoy being outside and also researching historical documents to determine boundary surveys and plats. He enjoyed reading, amateur radio, and observing nature while hunting, fishing and camping. Keith also loved to do research both for work as well as for pleasure. He attended the United Methodist Church in Elysian and was a member of the Minnesota Society of Professional Surveyors. He was also a trained SKYWARN weather spotter and was active with several amateur radio clubs including the Waseca Chapter, NAQCC, HANDIHAMS, and AARL. He was a member of the NRA and Cast Bullets Shooters Club. He is survived by his wife, Judy; five siblings, Sharon Keegan of Oscala, FL, Patricia Graham of Minneapolis, Ardith Navarro of Glencoe, Curtis (Linda) Graham of Leland, IA, and Richard (Michelle) Graham of Glenwood, IA. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Eloise Butler of Waseca; sister-in-law, Bernita Anderson of Owatonna; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 26, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Elysian with Rev. Bescye Burnett officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1:00 PM until the time of services at the church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
