Edgar F. Johnson, Waseca 2008 Alumni Achievement Award Recipient
Edgar F. Johnson was born June 13, 1899 in Waseca County to Mr. and Mrs. C. J. (Charlie) Johnson. It is perhaps somewhat coincidental that this was the year that Marconi invented the wireless. When he was four, his family moved into Waseca, where his father was a homebuilder, and later owned a hardware store and woodworking shop. Edgar graduated from Waseca High School in 1916. . . . Wayne 'Bumps' Brown, Waseca 2008 Alumni Achievement Award Recipient
Wayne 'Bumps' Brown graduated from Waseca High School in 1942. Brown printing began in 1949 as the printing department of the Waseca Journal and Herald, a partnership with his dad, Donald C. Brown, and brothers Grove and Jim. The company had one catalog customer, Herters, Inc., and they decided to build the printing business with Bumps in charge. Today it is the largest employer in Waseca and the 4th largest web offset printer in the country. . . . Keep reading

The seven persons selected for 2008 Waseca High School Athletic Hall of Fame induction were Lisa Broughten, Dwain 'Whitey' Aamot, Todd Mann, Terry Gilbertson, Donald Miller, Roger Paschall and Dr. Al Rieck.
